Job Description :

Marele Accountancy is recruiting for their Bournemouth team and looking for a professional, conscientious and confident Accounts Assistant, with a passion for excellence. This opportunity is ideally suited to a confident Assistant Accountant who is studying the final stages of AAT or studying ACCA, with industry experience and strong communication skills. This is an amazing opportunity for the right candidate who is looking to develop in a varied, challenging and dynamic role in a friendly, professional and fun working environment. The role is offered on a full-time basis, it is office-based and the candidate must be local.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Bookkeeping to include VAT returns
  • Preparation of trial balance
  • Payroll
  • Credit control, cash flow management and forecast, budgeting
  • Communicating with third parties on various accounting matters on behalf of the clients
  • Monthly management accounts preparation
  • Assisting with financial operations identified within a business accounts department
  • Assistance with the preparation and submission of company accounts & tax returns, tax planning and tax returns for individuals
  • Ad-hoc duties when required

The above is not an exhaustive list of duties and you will be expected to perform different tasks as your role evolves within the organization.

Requirements:

  • Level 4 AAT qualified or ACCA (partly) qualified
  • Minimum of one year of experience
  • Experience in processing payroll and using BrightPay is an advantage
  • Very good control and understanding of double-entry bookkeeping & financial accounting
  • Very confident with SageCloud, Xero & Excel
  • Must be local

Skills:

  • A very good standard of English Language
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Computer literacy including developed skills in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Outlook, Access, Excel) and usage of databases
  • Excellent verbal, written, telephone, interpersonal and organisational skills
  • Proven ability to understand and follow policies, processes and procedures
  • A good team worker who is self-motivated, flexible, takes initiative, works unsupervised and follows work discipline
  • Proactive with a strong ability to multi-task, manage variable workloads and prioritise effectively
  • Accuracy and attention to detail
