Accounts Assistant - Hebridean Island Cruises Limited : Job Details

About Us:

We’re a small yet luxury cruise company operating three vessels cruising around the Scottish coast. We’re a high-value, low-volume business, with holidays costing around £10,000 each. We have a high proportion of repeat business and we’re looking to expand our customer base to attract new potential customers.

Role Overview:

We’re seeking an office based experienced accounts assistant to join our small team. This role will report directly to the financial controller and will be responsible for the day-to-day ledgers of the busy finance function within the business.

With the support of a part-time accounts assistant the role will be varied, and you will be responsible for all aspects up to monthly ledger close of ledgers to tight deadlines comprising of :-

• Maintain complete, accurate and timely Purchase Ledger records to include coding Invoices, updating ledger for month end.
• Carry out monthly supplier statement reconciliations and investigate and discrepancies.
• Prepare regular supplier payment runs in accordance with the companies cash management process.
• Maintain customer receipt records to include reconciliation of daily receipts and posting off in the accounting software and ERP systems and investigate any discrepancies.
• Reconciliation of all company bank accounts, petty cash balances.
• Any other ad-hoc duties as specified by the business.

About you:

The ideal candidate will have the following attributes:

· AAT Level 3 qualified or above or equivalent QBE experience in accounts processing.

· A background in industry working in a varied commercial finance/admin function, travel industry experience would be advantageous

· Comfortable working in a small, close-knit, long-standing team environment.

· Xero knowledge or similar accounting packages with advanced Excel skills (pivots, lookups etc
