This is a hands-on transactional accounts assistant role supporting the day-to-day operations of the finance team in Cambridge during a busy period. You'll be working across core finance processes and helping to ensure accuracy and efficiency in reporting.

Description
- Process purchase invoices and match to purchase orders
- Reconcile supplier statements and resolve discrepancies
- Prepare and process weekly and monthly payment runs
- Assist with bank reconciliations and cashbook maintenance
- Post journals and maintain general ledger entries
- Support month-end close and reporting activities
- Manage employee expenses and corporate card reconciliations
- Assist with VAT returns and compliance checks
- Liaise with internal departments and external suppliers
- Provide ad hoc support to the wider finance team
Profile
- Previous experience in an accounts assistant or transactional finance role
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Good working knowledge of Excel and financial systems
- Experience with ERP systems (e.g. SAP, Oracle, or similar)
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- A proactive and flexible approach to work
- Available immediately or on a short notice period
Job Offer
- Temporary Accounts Assistant role with potential to go permanent
- Salary up to £31,000 (pro rata)
