Monday - Friday: 8.30am - 4.30pm
£26,000 - £30,000 per annum, depending on experience
People Solutions are currently recruiting for an experienced Accounts Assistant to join our well-established client based in Birmingham on a full-time permanent basis.
This is a fantastic opportunity offering an amazing annual salary and room to grow and progress.
The Accounts Assistant will be primarily responsible for daily cash and bank reconciliations, managing and reconciling the Sales ledger.
You will also be responsible for the credit control function ensuring any overdue customer balances are highlighted to the sales team and chased up for payment.
The business typically offers credit to around 300 regular customers with a balance of £1million outstanding at any given time.
We are looking for an organised individual who has good accounting experience.

Day to Day Duties
- Manage & reconcile the daily interface of sales and cash posting from the new CRM system to the accounting system.
- Reconcile the daily cash/till reports received from the cashiers and to resolve any discrepancies.
- Daily bank reconciliation ensuring all receipts and payments are posted to the accounting system.
- Prepare and issue the Daily cash report to Senior management.
- Manage and reconcile the Sales ledger ensuring the CRM ledger agrees to the accounting system.
- Weekly review of all outstanding customer balances with the Sales team across both sites.
- Reconcile Petty Cash and ensure all receipts have been received.
- Reconcile customer vouchers and Issue invoice to 3rd party accordingly
- Responding and dealing with phone and email queries from cashiers and external customers.
- Processing of customer credit applications requests using Credit Safe and trading history.
- Assist the Hospitality team in providing monthly supplier statements.
- Dealing with customer Invoice, Statement and reference requests.
- Support the Finance team with ad hoc tasks and reporting as and when required.
Essential Skills
- Proficient in Excel skills i.e. vlookups, pivots
- Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing, you will have experience in maintaining good relationships with both internal stakeholders and with our external customers.
- A proactive “can-do” approach, with a desire to work at pace.
- A strong attention to detail and ability to plan and prioritize effectively.
- Ability to improve, refine and implement processes as required
- Results focused Individual.
Desirable Experience
- Experience working in a fast-moving environment
- Knowledge of Microsoft Dynamics would be beneficial
- Car owner preferable to have the ability to travel to another site

- Industry related training and ongoing support throughout.
