What you'll do:
- Ensure accurate daily integration of sales and cash data from the CRM system into the accounting platform, reconciling discrepancies at each stage.
- Review and reconcile daily till and cash reports submitted by cashiers, promptly investigating and resolving any variances to uphold financial accuracy.
- Perform daily bank reconciliations by accurately posting all incoming and outgoing transactions into the accounting system.
- Compile and distribute detailed daily cash reports to senior management, offering clear insights into financial performance.
- Maintain and reconcile the sales ledger regularly, ensuring consistency between CRM records and the accounting system.
- Collaborate with the sales team across multiple sites to conduct weekly reviews of outstanding customer balances, supporting timely debt recovery.
- Manage petty cash accounts with precision, ensuring all receipts are recorded and discrepancies are addressed without delay.
- Process customer vouchers and generate invoices for third-party clients in line with business requirements.
- Handle phone and email enquiries from cashiers and external customers professionally, fostering positive relationships.
- Assess customer credit applications using Credit Safe tools and historical trading data to evaluate financial risk effectively.
What you bring:
- Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including advanced functions such as VLOOKUP and pivot tables, to manage and analyse large datasets with precision.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, enabling effective collaboration with internal teams and external stakeholders.
- A proactive and solution-oriented mindset, with the ability to remain composed and productive under pressure.
- Exceptional attention to detail, ensuring accuracy and consistency across all financial documentation and reporting.
- Excellent organisational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritise tasks and meet deadlines without compromising quality.
- Proven experience in process improvement, reflecting a commitment to enhancing efficiency and effectiveness within finance operations.
- Results-driven approach to credit control and debt recovery, consistently achieving positive outcomes.
- Ability to adapt quickly in fast-paced environments, with previous experience in dynamic settings considered advantageous.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Dynamics is beneficial but not essential.
- Occasional travel between offices may be needed so access to your own vehicle would be advantageous
