Reed Accountancy are delighted to be exclusively partnering with a Leeds-based business in their search for an Accounts Assistant. This is a full-time, permanent opportunity to work closely with the Financial Controller, providing vital support across daily accounting operations. The ideal candidate will be enthusiastic about developing their skills, with a clear ambition to train towards becoming a future Management Accountant.
Duties:
- Process invoices, match with purchase orders and follow up on queries
- Complete bank reconciliations and daily posting of cash transactions
- Undertake weekly payment runs
- Complete month end journals and reconciliations
- Support with internal and external audits
- Ensure timely and accurate expenses are recorded
- Work closely with suppliers to ensure supplier statements reconcile
- Resolve any discrepancies
- Maintain precise ledgers
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to resolve financial discrepancies
You will need to demonstrate:
- AAT qualified or working towards ACCA/CIMA/ACMA (desirable)
- Strong Excel skills
- Experience in a similar accounting or finance role
- High attention to detail and numerical accuracy
- Proactive problem solving skills
