You need to be solid in ledger accounting as you'll be managing all day to day invoicing, reconciliations - basically, everything that falls under "clerical" finance; the Management Accountant then takes over at month-end so everything must be neat, tidy and accurate - and that's really all they expect.

• You've earnt your stripes in transactional accounting - you know a thing or two about purchase & sales ledgers!
