Our client is a well established construction consultancy company based in Hemel Hempstead. They are currently looking for a junior accountant to join their team as an Accounts Assistant on a permanent, full time basis.
Your duties as an Accounts Assistant will include:
- Raising approximately 100 month end sales invoices on company’s management system
- Uploading sales invoices into the company’s accounts software
- Sending out statements and answering customers’ queries
- Credit control
- Maintaining customers details on both the company’s management system and accounting software
- Correctly coding and obtaining manager approval for approximately 250 supplier invoices per month
- Making/checking credit card payments and processing onto the company’s accounts software
- Assembling payment runs and processing through BACs
- Checking and processing employees’ expenses
- Processing all bank transactions and reconciliation
- General Administration supporting the effective running of the office
Requirements for the Accounts Assistant role include:
- A general understanding of accounting principles and associate regulatory matters would be an advantage but not essential as this knowledge will be acquired during training
- Applicant must be used to working in a multifunctional role
- Experience in a similar role
- Experience of Opera would be an advantage
- Strong IT skills including Microsoft Excel
- Good commercial awareness
- Ability to prioritise their own workload and meet deadlines
