Why this role?
In this fresh opportunity, you’ll support the Finance Manager day-to-day, take ownership of key transactional processes, and gradually get involved in more complex financial work like month-end, forecasting and cashflow. We're looking for someone curious and proactive – not just a doer, but someone who can spot improvements, suggest new ways of working, and grow with us.
What you'll be doing:
- Full end-to-end Accounts Payable processing
- Accounts Receivable – small volume (c.12 invoices per month) but high value
- Bank reconciliations
- Supporting with prepayments, accruals, month-end and year-end tasks
- Contributing to cashflow forecasting and reporting
- Process improvement and automation initiatives
- Using Xero and Excel daily
What we’re looking for:
- Solid experience in a transactional finance role
- Exposure to month-end or management accounting duties (or a strong interest in learning)
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment
- Process-focused – you enjoy spotting inefficiencies and fixing them
- AAT qualified or studying (we’ll support you)
- Interested in further study? We can support CIMA or ACCA after probation
- Based in the East Midlands – we’ll be fully remote from October, but Tuesday is currently our office day
The details:
- Salary: £30,000–£35,000 depending on experience
- Hours: 40 per week with flexible working (core hours 10am–4pm)
- Location: Remote (1 day/week in East Midlands office until October)
- Holidays: 25 days + bank holidays + 3 days at Christmas
- AAT study support available immediately, CIMA/ACCA support post-probation
- 6-month probation
- Small team: reporting to the Finance Manager, working closely with the Finance Director
The process:
- First stage: MS Teams interview with Finance Manager and Head of People
- Second stage: in-person or Teams with Finance Manager and Finance Director
