I have been retained by a high-net worth private family office who are seeking a bright and diligent Accounts and Operations Assistant to support our small accounting and finance department and assist the Director of Operations in a prestigious Central London Office.
This role is ideal for someone happy working full-time in an office with a strong accounting background who is capable of multitasking across various projects and responsibilities. The role also has the opportunity for travel to Europe once a quarter.
Day-to-day of the role:
- Finance Support:
- Assist the Director of Finance with backend processing of purchase invoices, office expenses, and bank reconciliations using Xero.
- Take full control of reconciling supplier and expense accounts.
- Prepare bi-monthly payment runs for UK entities and assist with other projects.
- Prepare accounts to trial balance for UK entities, including reconciliation of balance sheet accounts and review of profit and loss accounts.
- Assist with the preparation of quarterly VAT returns in the UK and France.
- Support preparations for operational and budgetary audits across all European entities.
- Contribute to the year-end closing of statutory accounts for UK entities and assist in the development of annual budgets for residences and related entities.
- Provide ad hoc financial analysis support as required.
- Operations Support:
- Deputise for the Director of Operations during site visits across UK and European private residencies.
- Assist with various upgrade and refurbishment projects across the European property portfolio.
- Support day-to-day operations of European residencies and private yacht upgrade projects.
- Travel:
- Travel to various European destinations is essential, usually requiring 1-2 nights per trip.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Proven ability to multitask and work on multiple projects for multiple stakeholders.
- Strong accounting background (Debits & Credits/double-entry) with hands-on experience in a financial processes.
- Previous experience in a family/High-Net worth/Private office environment is highly advantageous.
- Proficiency in Xero software is very beneficial.
- Excellent organisational and communication skills.
