Accounts Assistant

We are seeking an Accounts Assistant to join our team in Hastings. This role offers a flexible approach to working hours and the opportunity to work in a hybrid setting. The ideal candidate will be responsible for supporting our financial department by performing clerical tasks, including processing and recording transactions, preparing reports and budgets, and handling communications with clients.
Day-to-day of the role:
- Assist in the preparation of financial reports and maintain records of assets, liabilities, profit and loss, tax liability, or other financial activities within the organisation.
- Process invoices, record payments, and track expenses of the organisation.
- Compile and analyse financial statements and reports.
- Manage payroll functions, ensuring accuracy and compliance with relevant laws.
- Coordinate with internal departments to gather, analyse, and interpret relevant financial data.
- Reconcile financial discrepancies by collecting and analysing account information.
- Support month-end and year-end close processes.
- Ensure compliance with GAAP principles.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Proven experience as an accounts assistant or in a similar role.
- Familiarity with basic Accounting principles.
- Professional manner and strong ethical code.
- AAT Qualification or QBE
- Ability to multitask and remain motivated and positive.
- Commitment to working efficiently and accurately.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and knowledge of accounting software.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
