Job Title: Accounts Assistant

Location: Teddington, Surbiton, Kingston, Clapham Junction, Wimbledon, Putney, Blackfriars, London

Salary: upto £40,000 + Benefits + Hybrid Working

Evolve Recruitment are seeking to recruit a proactive, self-motivated and experienced Accounts Assistant to join an established, dynamic company. The role will be varied and challenging; you will be required to have a high level of accuracy and attention to detail to work effectively within a busy Accounts team. The successful candidate will be responsible for the timely and accurate processing of all purchase invoices, preparation of monthly payroll (including starters, leavers, overtime, statutory payments / deductions, and adhoc payments as required). A key role within the Finance team with responsibility of supporting the finance and HR functions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Managing Accounts Inbox for supplier invoices
  • Downloading invoices and saving on system
  • Check Invoices for accuracy and completeness
  • Coding of Invoices on Rapport/Sage
  • Input of data on Rapport/Sage
  • Maintaining the Purchase Ledger
  • Sending remittances to suppliers
  • Review and extracting Aged Creditors report on Sage
  • Preparing the Payment Run as and when required
  • Bank/Credit Card Postings on Sage including required reconciliations
  • Working against tight deadlines to meet business requirements
  • Provide support for additional ad-hoc accounting duties to Finance Team as and when required.
  • Undertake all petty cash withdrawals and reconciliations
  • General ad hoc financial administration including providing support to overseas branches
  • Co-ordinating payroll with the payroll provider.
  • Administering the company’s benefits package (cycle to work scheme, childcare vouchers, season ticket loans, and professional subscriptions)
  • Assist staff in payroll, pension and benefit queries
  • Liaise with company’s pension scheme provider and manage auto-enrolment and various monthly updates 
  • Coordinating with HR to ensure proper flow and maintenance of employee data.
  • Recording and processing SSP, SMP, SPP, Shared Parental Pay and other statutory payments and deductions.
  • Preparation and coordination of information required for submission of annual P11d’s and PSA’s
  • Administration and coordination of expense cycles including verification and processing of payments
  • Providing ad-hoc support to the Finance team (monthly headcount data, survey data)
  • Under the direction of HR Director, prepare relevant documentation for staff annual bonus payments and salary increases
  • Review UAE payroll calculations before HR Director approval
  • Coordinate and work with HR Director to ensure all staff professional subscriptions are paid
  • Prepare and reconcile monthly pension journals for UAE, UK and Ireland
  • Input UK, Ireland and UAE Journals into Sage post payroll reconciliation

Skills & Experience:

  • Excellence in communication skills, ensuring interaction and relationships with stakeholders is transparent and consistent
  • The nature of the business requires a flexible attitude and proactiveness to meet the needs of a fast-paced environment.
  • Methodical, with exceptional attention to detail; combined with flexibility
  • Sound knowledge of Microsoft Office applications including Excel, experience of using Sage an advantage as well as CRM experience

Personal Qualities & Skills required

  • Proven 2 - 4 years Accounts Assistant or experience within a similar role.
  • Good collaborative skills
  • Ability to work autonomously, as well as part of a team
  • Efficient
  • Highly organised with impeccable attention to detail
  • Able to multi-task
  • Proactive, able to work well under pressure
  • Self motivated
