Accounts Assistant Credit Control - Reed : Job Details

• Annual Salary: £29,000 - £33,000 (dependent on experience)
• Location: Chelmsford

We are currently recruiting for an experienced Accounts Assistant / Credit Controller on behalf of our client based in Chelmsford. This role is essential for ensuring all accounting information is completed accurately and on time, and for maximising cash flow by maintaining customer accounts and proactively managing debt collection.

• Ensure outstanding debts are paid in a timely manner.
• Maintain effective contact with customers via email and phone.
• Send out monthly statements to customers.
• Post customer invoicing onto Sage.
• Resolve customer queries and issue chasing letters where required.
• Match supplier invoices to orders and investigate any discrepancies for price/quantity with suppliers.
• Assist with coding and posting supplier invoices onto Sage and an in-house application.
• Deal with supplier queries as received.
• Assist the finance team with accounts preparation and administrative duties as required.
• Perform bank reconciliation and CIS processing.
• Use, maintain, and create Excel spreadsheets for accounting purposes.

• Minimum of 5 years of experience in credit control and accounting.
• Excellent computer skills, particularly in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel).
• Thorough working knowledge of Sage 50 Accounts.
• Good working knowledge of accountancy procedures up to trial balance.
• Experience with IT systems including Microsoft Office and Sage 50.
• Appropriate level of data protection, security awareness, and confidentiality awareness.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Attention to detail, discretion, and confidentiality.
• Flexibility, initiative, self-motivation, and the ability to work well under pressure.
• Working towards AAT qualification or similar is advantageous.
