Job Description :

A great opportunity to work for our well established client at their head office in Bishop's Stortford who are looking for an Accounts Administrator, reporting directly to the Financial Controller. This role is ideal for a highly organised individual with a keen eye for detail and a strong working knowledge of Sage 50 Accounts. The successful candidate will manage both purchase and sales ledgers, handle client accounts, and assist with month-end and year-end procedures.

Accounts Assistant

  • Annual Salary: £29,000 p.a.
  • Location: On-site, Bishop's Stortford
  • Job Type: Full-time
Day-to-day of the role:
  • Manage purchase ledger invoices using Sage 50 Accounts, preparing monthly payment runs.
  • Handle sales ledger tasks, including inputting invoices and processing receipts.
  • Input transactions into client accounting software, and perform daily reconciliations.
  • Process contractor invoices and instructions from departments related to new clients.
  • Execute payments to clients and contractors as instructed.
  • Conduct daily, month-end, and year-end procedures for client accounting.
  • Address client accounting queries and liaise with colleagues as necessary.
  • Support the Financial Controller with month-end and year-end procedures.
  • Liaise with auditors on client accounting queries and other inquiries as needed.
  • Perform general office tasks, including filing and ad hoc duties, while maintaining a tidy workspace.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • A calm, confident manner with the ability to articulate problems or queries effectively.
  • Numerate with attention to detail and highly organised.
  • AAT qualified/part-qualified or qualified by experience preferred.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
  • Knowledge of Sage 50 Accounts.
  • Understanding of client accounts rules and regulations.
  • Familiarity with Client Accounting/Property Management software.
  • Basic typing skills with the ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
  • Capable of working independently and as part of a team.
