Job Description :

Reed Accountancy are currently assisting an established client in the Crawley area in the recruitment of a Accountant to join their team.  As Accountant you will manage financial records, prepare financial statements, and ensure compliance with tax regulations. This role is ideal for someone with a strong analytical mindset, meticulous attention to detail, and the ability to collaborate effectively across departments.

Day-to-day of the role:

  • Report directly to the General Manager in the UK and regularly to the Group Finance Manager at the overseas headquarters as required.
  • Manage accounts payable and receivable to ensure timely transactions.
  • Oversee cash management activities and maintain accurate financial records including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
  • Provide cash flow forecasts, financial forecasts, and risk analysis to aid in decision-making.
  • Coordinate with external auditors during annual audits and ensure compliance with accounting standards, policies, and regulations.
  • Prepare and file tax returns in accordance with UK tax laws.
  • Support the effective implementation and enhancement of the company’s Integrated Management System
  • Perform any other ad hoc duties as necessary.
  • Overseeing a small team

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Proven experience in accounting or finance roles, preferably within the construction or manufacturing industry.
  • Professional certification (e.g., ACCA, CIMA, ACA) or qualified by experience.
  • Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Sage) and Microsoft Excel.
  • Strong knowledge of UK tax regulations and financial reporting standards.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Good team player with strong initiative and the ability to work under pressure.
  • Immediate availability or short notice is highly preferred.
