A well-established accountancy practice is looking for a proactive and versatile accountant to join it's forward-thinking accountancy team, operating across East London and Chelmsford locations. This position offers a hands-on role supporting two senior leaders in delivering tailored financial services to a wide-ranging client base. Role Responsibilities

• Drafting and finalising financial statements and annual accounts for various business types, including limited companies, sole traders and partnerships.
• Handling a diverse client base (with turnover up to £8 million), spanning industries such as property, retail and owner-managed enterprises.
• Preparing and filing corporate tax returns in compliance with UK tax legislation.
• Compiling periodic management reports, including financial forecasts and budget analyses.
• Taking care of statutory compliance work, including Companies House submissions.
• Acting as the liaison between clients and external organisations, such as tax authorities or financial institutions.
• Building and maintaining strong, trust-based relationships with clients.
• Managing personal workflow to ensure projects are delivered within set timeframes and budgets.
• Addressing client queries promptly and escalating complex matters where needed.
• Contributing to occasional bespoke projects or supporting strategic initiatives driven by leadership.

Personal Requirements

• Experience of working in a UK accountancy practice.
• A 2:1 or higher undergraduate degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics or another numerically focused discipline.
• Solid grounding in UK financial reporting and tax regulations.
• A confident communicator who enjoys working with clients and problem-solving.
• Highly organised, with the ability to manage multiple responsibilities concurrently.
