Gill Aggregates are currently looking for an accountant to join their ever expanding finance team in our newly refurbished head office.
Duties will include
- Assist with yearend and other financial statements, journal postings, accruals, and prepayments.
- Reconciliation of all balance sheet control accounts & bank accounts
- Nominal ledger balance sheet and bank postings including controlling and overseeing lease direct debits and maintaining lease contract files.
- Maintain spread sheets and records of assets under finance and related direct debits. Post splits between capital and interest payments, reconciling finance creditors.
- Carry out ad-hoc sales invoicing for non-stock items and invoicing of rent for rental sites. Carry out credit control on these.
- Run draft VAT returns across companies and keep on top of deadlines
- Roll forward periods monthly/qtrly purchase ledger/Sales ledger/VAT and nominal ledger annually.
- Maintain accurate fixed asset records, calculate and post quarterly depreciations.
- Reconcile Bank loan accounts and post interest monthly
- Provide support with yearend audits and compilation of any national statistical returns.
- Provide support to the Group financial controller and other departments on an ad-hoc basis as need arises.
Qualifications and Experience
- To be considered for this role the candidate must have 5+ years of recent experience in all of the above duties.
- Excellent record keeping skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Highly proficient in the use of Microsoft Office Applications (Excel)
- ACCA, ACA Qualified or QBE
- Excellent english verbal and written skills
The role is an in office role with no option to offer work from home or hybrid working.
