Financial Accountant
- Location: Leatherhead, Surrey (Hybrid, 3 days in the office and 2 from home)
- Job Type: Temporary for 3 months
- Hours: 35 hours per week
- Hourly rate: £19.00- £21.97 PAYE or £23.68- £27.49 via an umbrella company.
We are currently seeking a dedicated Financial Accountant to join a small finance team of three on a temporary basis. This role is crucial for maintaining the general ledger, ensuring all balance sheet reconciliations are completed accurately and on time, and producing a precise Trial Balance each month within the group’s reporting deadlines.
Day-to-Day of the Role:
- Maintain the General Ledger with high accuracy.
- Perform month-end Balance Sheet reconciliations.
- Investigate and resolve any discrepancies found during reconciliations.
- Produce an accurate Trial Balance at month-end within the group’s reporting deadlines.
- Support the Management Accountant with month-end and year-end reporting.
- Work with external auditors during the annual audit.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Part-qualified accountant with strong technical accounting skills or QBE.
- Experience with General Ledger maintenance, including balance sheet reconciliations, accruals, prepayments, and month-end procedures.
- Proven track record of working accurately with strong time management skills.
- Ability to build good working relationships and possess excellent communication skills.
- Advanced proficiency in Excel and Word.
- Ideally experience of using Business Central.
- Housing Sector experience is desirable but not essential.
Communication and Working Relationships:
- Collaborate closely with the Management Accountant and the Head of Business Partnering.
- Work alongside the Assistant Accountant and engage with the Senior Leadership Team.
- Interact with colleagues across the organisation.
- Liaise with external and internal auditors to ensure compliance and accuracy in financial reporting.
