About the Role

An opportunity is available for an ambitious Accountancy Manager to join a new office based in Exeter.

This is a varied role involving the delivery of compliance-related services, including management accounts, financial accounts, VAT and corporate tax returns. The position includes managing a portfolio of clients, leading a team, and contributing to the growth of the practice in the region.

The role also involves developing junior team members and working closely with senior staff to strengthen client relationships and identify new business opportunities.

• Managing and developing the Accountancy team, including recruitment, coaching, and day-to-day leadership
• Building and maintaining strong relationships with a portfolio of owner-managed business clients (typically £2–8 million turnover)
• Ensuring the delivery of high-quality compliance services
• Keeping up to date with developments in accounting standards and service provision
• Supporting business development efforts across the South West
• Identifying and introducing value-added services to existing clients

• ACA/ACCA qualified (or equivalent)
• Previous experience in a business services or general practice environment
• Strong leadership and team development skills
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Commercially focused, with a drive to support growth initiatives
