Accommodation Brokerage Officer (Adults) **

We are seeking several Accommodation Brokerage Officers for a local authority client in Bedford.

The Council's Adult Services is piloting an Accommodation Brokerage Hub to centralise the sourcing of supported living, residential, and nursing placements. The hub will handle placement requests from operational teams and work with providers to secure the best value options.

We are seeking two Brokerage Officers to support this pilot. Initially, you will work with the Project Lead to set up processes and documentation. Once live, the role will involve managing placement requests, liaising with providers, and coordinating with service users and families on accommodation choices, start dates, and funding.

Responsibilities:

  • Participate in project activities including business process mapping, planning activities and designing communications material.
  • Work with colleagues to define the interim brokerage model with respect to operational requirements, Commissioning requirements and LAS / ContrOCC recording requirements and document the processes required.
  • Develop any additional forms required for placements requests or case recording purposes and test as required.
  • Lead on delivering communications to care providers so they are informed of the changes the council is implementing and be a first point of contact for care provider queries through the project.
  • Once the brokerage hub is live, undertake the activities of the hub including sourcing placements, speaking with care providers and liaising with Adults social care service users and their families.
  • Participate in appraisals of the pilot and interim service and identify improvements for longer-term operating of the team.

Requirements:

The successful candidate will have the following skills and experience:

  • Experience with Adult Social Care and brokerage or placement services.
  • Use of computer recording systems (preferably Liquidlogic Adults System (LAS) and ContrOCC) and Microsoft Office software including Word, Outlook and Excel (spreadsheets).
  • Willingness to have conversations with care providers about placements including care delivered and costs charged.

Compensation and Benefits:

Rate of pay: £18 - £23ph+ (may negotiate higher for exceptional candidates, based on experience)

Contract type: 3 months minimum, with a high likelihood of extension.

Hours: Monday to Friday, 36 hours per week

Location: Bedford, MK42. (Hybrid 2-3 days per week in the office)
