3rd Line Technical Support Engineer

Nottingham

£55,000 plus benefits and package.

A client of mine based near Nottingham are looking to hire a 3rd Line Technical Support Engineer, a very well respected and known company in the area.

This role would be ideal for someone who is looking to have their voice heard in a new company and someone who wants to make a difference in a company, share ideas, train and guide junior colleagues and help a company continue to grow. This would be working directly with the Head of Infrastructure and being their 2nd in command.

There is also the potential for you to have a more Senior role in the future, as the company grows.

It is important in this 3rd line Technical Support Engineer role that you have experience dealing with typical 3rd Line issues and also being the escalation point, this is a role where you would be a Senior member in the team and hopefully be able to assist and mentor some junior members at 1st/2nd Line level as well.

The manager is looking for someone who enjoys working with different tech and covering a variety of tools like Office365, Windows, SharePoint, Hyper-V, VMware etc. Any Security experience across Firewalls, BitDefender would be great.

It’s a role where there will be different tasks and problem solving each day, which will keep the role varied.

Technical experience needed in this 3rd Line Support Engineer role:

  • Experience within a 3rd line role, mentoring colleagues & preferably covering multiple clients.
  • Experience working with Office 365, SharePoint, Hyper-V, VMware.
  • Experience working with Windows Operating Systems.
  • Experience writing IT policies & procedures.
  • Experience leading a number of server and network migrations (both on-premise and cloud).
  • Any experience working with Azure would be a bonus.
  • Great communication skills & customer-facing skills.

The company operate a hybrid working model with most days working in the office due to the mentoring nature of the role. Also, there are other benefits included such as a pension.
