Job Purpose
This is a largely office based post reporting to the Network Maintenance Manager (NMM). Responsible for the analysis of technical information to report, monitor and control asset performance. Being proactively involved with both site and area action planning you will ensure statutory and environmental compliance, together with effective maintenance of Wastewater Network assets. You will support the NMM to continually drive for improved wastewater technical knowledge, best practice at a local level and support your colleagues by providing knowledge and skills to the Network Asset Engineer, Maintainer Controller and Network Asset Controller roles.
Accountabilities & Responsibilities
Reporting to the NMM; you will discuss compliance, performance, action planning, progress reporting, serviceability & optimisation. You will be responsible for assimilating and analysing data from a wide range of sources relevant to Wastewater Network Maintenance performance and liaising with NMM on key performance targets and assist to identify financial savings.
You will also be responsible for:
- Longer term planning to complete a programme of review and corporate audits.
- Implementing local and regional strategies and procedures to improve operational performance.
- Working with and providing support to the local and regional teams Network Asset Engineers, Network Asset Controllers, Maintainer Controllers and Resource Coordinator to deliver regulatory compliance and performance, as well as our statutory obligations.
- Identifying, supporting and assisting with the delivery of local planned and reactive VSP projects along with liaising with relevant Project Delivery Teams to ensure effective delivery of a wide range of projects.
- Undertaking specific strategic projects or initiatives as directed by the NMM.
- Supporting the NMM with any escalations or incidents and where necessary act as the Forward Incident Controller during declared incidents.
- Attending post incident reviews and providing technical content for post incident reports as necessary.
- Capturing and disseminating lessons learnt from events and incidents
- Delivery of technical and / or asset focused regulatory commitments including post incident actions
- Establishing regular liaison with other Technical Officers to share best practice, consistently implement company policy
- Championing the highest standards of safety behaviour, performance of the team and assist with improvements and investigations.
- Consistently promoting Health and Safety and customer focused approach to all network activity
- This role has a requirement to undertake a lot of physical activities which include the safe use of ladders to access confined spaces, working at heights and manual handling, etc.
Technical Skills & Experience
To be successful in this role and deliver operational and financial performance targets you will need; to be educated to GCSE level having achieved 5 grade A-C (4-9) passes including English and maths together with well-developed IT, numerical, analytical and problem solving skills.
Alongside this you will need:
