12 MTH COMPLIANCE CONTRACT – AML EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

£45K - £65K + benefits COVENTRY (HYBRID)

Our client, a professional services firm, is looking to fill a maternity cover. Duties will include

  • Develop and implement compliance program: Design, implement, and maintain an effective compliance program that aligns with industry standards and regulatory requirements. This includes creating policies, procedures, and controls to address key compliance areas, with a clear ‘compliance calendar’ to ensure necessary reviews and actions are scheduled. Taking responsibility for full compliance, advising Senior Management of measures to be taken in relation to relevant above compliance legislation, and be responsible for implementing changes and requirements.
  • Regulatory compliance: Stay up-to-date with relevant laws, regulations, and industry best practices. Assess the impact of regulatory changes on the firm and recommend necessary adjustments to ensure compliance. Monitor compliance with applicable regulations and maintain appropriate documentation.
  • Internal policy compliance: Develop and enforce internal policies and procedures to ensure adherence across the firm. Conduct regular internal audits (which will be submitted to the partners) and reviews to assess compliance with internal policies and identify areas for improvement. Provide training and guidance to employees on compliance-related matters.
  • Risk assessment and mitigation: Identify potential compliance risks, creating and maintaining a risk register for all risk areas across the firm, and develop risk mitigation strategies. The risk register will consider all areas of the business, highlighting high risks, + key prioritised areas of focus for action.Conduct risk assessments to evaluate the effectiveness of existing controls and recommend enhancements. Implement measures to minimize compliance risks and ensure business continuity.
  • Reporting and documentation: Prepare and submit compliance reports to senior management, regulatory authorities, and external stakeholders as required. Maintain accurate and comprehensive records of compliance activities, including policies, procedures, and audit findings.

You should have AML experience, an understanding of Data Privacy/GDPR and be willing to pick up other areas eg Health & Safety. You should also be prepared to help out with genera office management duties when required. NB The firm is proud of its friendly pleasant office environment (close to rail links and the M6/major trunk roads) and for a visible role like this regular office attendance expected although 1 or 2 days pw WFH is possible.
