Role: 1:1 SEN Teaching Assistant (SEMH Support)

What you'll do:

  • Build a trusted, supportive relationship with a child who needs help managing emotions and behaviour.
  • Use creative strategies-structured play, calming techniques, and positive communication-to help them express themselves.
  • Support their learning in literacy, numeracy, and beyond, adapting as they grow.
  • Work closely with teachers and the SEN team to create the right approach-because every small win matters.
  • Be the consistent, reassuring presence that helps them feel safe and ready to learn.

Is this you?

  • You've got resilience in spades-working with SEMH can be tough, but you don't give up easily.
  • You're patient, empathetic, and calm, even when things feel challenging.
  • You might have experience with SEN or SEMH (great if you do, but if you've got the right attitude, we still want to hear from you!).
