In this role, you'll work alongside the Director of Sports, Camp, and Afterschool Programs to ensure our youth programs are safe, enriching, and well-executed. From developing hands-on STEAM activities to mentoring part-time staff, supporting volunteers, and connecting with parents-you'll be a key player in delivering quality experiences that strengthen our community. Requirements Essential Functions
- Program Leadership & Delivery: Provide hands-on leadership, oversight of daily operations, and STEAM-curriculum creation for Afterschool and Summer Day Camp programs. Act as a consistent and visible presence during programming hours, fostering a culture of safety, inclusion, and fun.
- Program Promotion & Communication: Collaborate with leadership to develop and distribute clear, engaging marketing materials and program communications, including flyers, newsletters, and social media content for youth programs.
- Program Growth & Improvement: Regularly assess program quality and participant experience. Offer ideas and leadership for innovation, expansion, and continuous improvement across all youth initiatives.
- Team Support & Supervision: Assist with recruiting, hiring, training, scheduling, and supervising part-time staff across youth programs. Serve as a mentor and coach to frontline team members, ensuring staff are supported, engaged, and prepared to succeed.
- Operational Execution: Maintain a strong working knowledge of program schedules, facilities, and logistics to ensure smooth daily operation. Help coordinate transportation, supply needs, snacks, and transitions between program elements.
- Family & Community Engagement: Serve as a responsive point of contact for parents and guardians, addressing questions, concerns, and suggestions with empathy and professionalism. Support outreach and relationship-building with local schools, organizations, and community partners.
- Volunteer Coordination: Help recruit, schedule, and engage volunteers to enhance program delivery, ensuring they are equipped to serve and feel valued as part of our youth development mission.
Qualifications
- Must be at least 21+ years of age.
- Minimum 2 years' experience working with youth in a structured setting (camp, afterschool, recreation, or education).
- Strong organizational skills and a proactive problem-solving mindset.
- Confident communicator with experience handling parent or community inquiries.
- Ability to lead a team and create a positive, productive environment.
- CPR/First Aid certification preferred (or willingness to obtain).
- Must be available to occasionally work evenings and weekends based on program needs.
