To transform the lives of at-risk youth by caring for their wounds and shining a light on their gifts through an ongoing mentoring community, creative expression, and life-changing experiences; thus inspiring them to become thriving adults.
Become a Mentor with Youth Mentoring ConnectionYouth Mentoring Connection (YMC) is partnering with multiple community-based organizations to launch mentoring programs beginning this Spring & Fall. Each program recurs on the same day of the week, every other week throughout the duration of the school year. This nine-month program includes sessions twice a month totaling ~36 hours of commitment throughout the experience.
Prospective Mentors complete our screening process, including an application and interview. Following training, each volunteer Mentor is matched with a High School student, in a safe community setting.
RequirementsYMC is a mentoring-driven community developed to awaken young adults from at-risk regions to their power, unique gifts, and purpose by matching them with caring adult mentors and placing that pair within a structured group dynamic that builds the emotional resiliency skills and confidence in adolescents to self-actualize into adulthood. Since YMC's inception, over 6000 vulnerable youth have been positively impacted by dedicated and caring adults who empower youth with long-term, consistent support, guiding them toward developing positive characters, good decision-making skills, and enhanced self-esteem to maximize their capabilities.
