Job Description: Youth Director for BHCC

The main priority of the Youth Director (Middle/High School youth) is to reach young people with the Gospel of Jesus Christ and to foster spiritual growth for those who have already accepted Christ.

The Youth Director should exemplify Christ in his life both within and outside of the Church (1 Timothy 3) and serve as a role model to the youth under his responsibility.

Responsibilities include:

• Training and equipping middle and high school youth to develop a Christian lifestyle through biblical foundation and a hunger for the gospel (2 Timothy 2:15).
• Being available to youth both in and outside church activities, providing contact information for accessibility.
• Building mentoring relationships with students, showing genuine concern for their well-being and spiritual development.
• Regularly contacting students to check on them and show interest in their lives.

The Youth Director, in harmony with church leadership, shall plan and oversee the youth program to promote spiritual growth.

He will:

• Attend elder and church board meetings, providing updates and curriculum plans.
• Coordinate Sunday and Wednesday night youth meetings with the Children's Director, including recruiting and training sponsors.
• Organize activities such as youth revivals, retreats, and special events for spiritual growth.
• Plan outreach activities outside the church for fellowship and maturity, including trips and social events, ensuring safety and supervision.
• Coordinate youth activities with sponsors, including trips to parks, colleges, and conventions.
• Schedule quarterly youth events, supervise activities, and ensure safety.
• Participate in Youth Sunday services, organizing youth involvement and faith sharing.
• Conduct regular visitation to youth visitors, sick youth, and evangelistic contacts.

The Youth Director will:

• Work closely with the Director of Vacation Bible School and the Children's Director.
• Coordinate with Blue Grass Christian Camp and other summer programs.
• Counsel youth in need and facilitate spiritual counseling.
• Coordinate visits from Bible Colleges and support further education efforts.
• Be available for substitute teaching and fill in during absences, ensuring responsibilities are covered.

The Youth Director shall cooperate with other church staff while maintaining primary focus on youth ministry. He will also:

• Participate in visitation and evangelistic efforts related to youth.
• Assist in Sunday worship as needed.
