Weaver Union School DistrictMajor Duties and Responsibilities* Under the supervision of the school site Principal or designee, supervises cafeteria, playground, and other areas as assigned, with attention to the health, safety, and conduct of students.* Help organize and supervise noon playactivities.* Maintains a firm but respectful and courteous attitude toward students.* Reports all faulty playground equipment to the school office.* Handles and appropriately refers to any accidents involving students.* Encourages children to observe fundamental courtesies, practice good eating habits, leave immediate eating areas neat and clean, and be orderly in going to and from eating areas.* Assists children to observe all school safety rules, participate in wholesome recreational play activities, observe all rules of games, and learn to play with others in a social group.* Exercises no supervision over other employees; no corporal punishment may be administered by Yard Duty Supervisors.* Other duties as assigned.Required Job Functions* See and read a computer screen and printed matter with or without vision aids.* Dexterity of hands and fingers to operate standard office and classroom equipment.* Bending at the waist, kneeling or crouching to assist students.* Sitting or standing for extended periods of time.* Lifting, carrying, pushing or pulling heavy objects up to 80 pounds occasionally, 50 pounds frequently, and 20 pounds constantly.Work ConditionsEmployees in this position will be required to work indoors in a cafeteria environment and/or outside on the playground or blacktop areas.
