$70,000.00/yr - $95,000.00/yr

X- R ay Imaging Applications EngineerResponsible for x-ray inspection and imaging activities according to internal or external customer specifications and ensuring accuracy and clarity of results.Job Description

• Perform and document X-ray imaging studies with a variety of sources, detectors and geometries on sample parts.
• Demonstrate system and software capabilities to customers in our lab and at their location.
• Analyze and recommend X-ray imaging components including type of source, detector and X-ray technique for a given industrial application.
• Troubleshoot imaging related problems for both in-house and field systems , to include providing remote support to existing customers.
• Responsible for application and imaging testing on systems in development.
• Apply known principles and techniques to examine, inspect and certify images of customer provided materials and complete required documents according to specific procedures and requirements.
• Provide training to customers at our location or at their location.
• Monitor emerging imaging technology developments and determine applicability.
• Conduct experimental investigations with new imaging components and technologies.
• Work closely with sales team and upper management
• Interact with a cross-disciplinary engineering team (mechanical, electrical, software, imaging) to review, define, and design integrated system solutions to meet requirements of worldwide customers
• Acquire necessary certifications by attending relevant courses and passing certification tests.
• Develop and maintain best practices and quality processes for entire imaging function
• Travel to customer sites worldwide to perform application studies, training, inspections or demonstrations and/or to participate in system installation, repairs or troubleshooting: approx imately 3 0%.

Essential Skills

• Bachelor's degree in computer science or computer engineering .
• At least three (3) years of work experience in a technical customer facing role .
• Must be a US citizen or permanent residen t legally authorized to work in the US and able to obtain unescorted clearance to work at Government sites
• Prior usage of MATLAB, C/C++, C# or Visual Basic
• Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to interface effectively with both customers and coworkers of varied disciplines
• Proficiency in the English language with established written and verbal communication skills
• H ighly organized and self-motivated capable of successfully working in a fast-paced team-oriented environment.
• Must be a creative problem solver with well-developed analytical skills

Non-Essential Skills

• Familiarity working with at least two of the following: image quality, image physics, image sensors, cameras, frame-grabbers, computer interfaces or imaging related hardware
• Prior experience in quality assurance, controlled design environment. (ISO 9000, NQA-1, or similar)
• X-ray imaging system experience
• Imaging processing experience

Physical And Mental Demands

• Must be able to fulfill esse ntial job function in a consist ent state of alertness and saf e manner
• Regularly required to sit and stand using computer equipment for prolonged periods of time .
• Will be required to sit, stand, walk, bend and work within and around systems in an industrial environment.
• May be required to use hands to finger, handle, feel and operate hand tools, power tools, and related standard industrial production and office equipment.
• Will be required to lift, move, carry, and/or maneuver materials up to 50 pounds alone; heavier with assistance.
• May need to work or traverse upon ladders and/or elevated heights with proper safety gear.
• Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision and the ability to adjust focus.
• Expected to effectively communicate in person, on phone, and via email and other electronic devices on a continual and repetitive basis.
• Domestic and international travel via air, rail, and car.
