The Workforce Specialist plays a critical role in developing, managing, and enhancing workforce development and retention initiatives. This position builds strategic partnerships, delivers career readiness services, and supports individuals in achieving employment success while addressing employer and community workforce needs. QUALIFICATIONS:
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Human Services, Workforce Development, Business, Education, Communications, Healthcare Administration, Rehab Therapy or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills; ability to work with diverse populations; ability to handle sensitive concerns professionally.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet performance goals.
- Problem-solving mindset and a proactive approach to improving engagement and satisfaction.
- Experience in healthcare, education, or customer service preferred
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
Workforce Development & Career Support - Build and maintain partnerships with educational institutions, training providers, community organizations, and government agencies to support workforce initiatives.
- Develop individualized career or employment plans in collaboration with colleges, universities, and other stakeholders.
- Connect students and job seekers to employment opportunities, vocational training, apprenticeships, or continued education.
- Design and deliver job readiness services, including workshops and one-on-one coaching on resume writing, interview techniques, and workplace expectations.
Employer Engagement & Program Development - Coordinate with employers to identify workforce needs and develop tailored training and placement strategies.
- Plan and execute job fairs, recruitment events, and workforce development programs aligned with industry demands.
- Monitor local labor market trends and skill gaps to inform the design of responsive and effective workforce programs.
- Manage workforce initiatives that promote skill development, job placement, and career advancement for diverse populations.
Program Evaluation & Reporting - Track participant progress and maintain accurate documentation within workforce systems or program databases.
- Analyze outcomes and performance metrics; report program effectiveness to stakeholders, funders, and leadership.
- Conduct satisfaction surveys and gather feedback to improve services and outcomes.
- Perform other duties as assigned by Supervisor.
