Overview

Amtrust Financial Services, a fast-growing commercial insurance company, is seeking a Workers' Compensation Team Lead. The WC Team Lead collaborates with Claim Adjusters to manage and ensure that Workers' Compensation claims are handled according to Amtrust Best Practices, while developing and maintaining professional relationships with customers and brokers by identifying and meeting their needs. The role emphasizes customer service principles.

This position offers relocation assistance to Dallas, TX.

Responsibilities
  • Develop short-range area plans and budgets with Claim Supervisors and the Manager to achieve company goals.
  • Secure, evaluate, and develop staff; ensure effective teamwork.
  • Keep Claim Supervisors and the Manager informed of case statuses through regular communication and reports.
  • Ensure adherence to all AmTrust policies, procedures, and controls; consult with Claims Supervisors on claim areas needing improvement.
  • Work with staff to ensure the use of approved vendors; monitor attorney vendor panels and meet with firms to discuss action plans for cost-effective claim mitigation.
  • Monitor claims with Supervisors to ensure proactive, cost-effective management.
  • Manage claim settlement negotiations, participate in hearings, trials, and depositions to ensure timely, cost-effective resolutions.
  • Support sales and marketing goals by participating in underwriting and new business development activities.
  • Evaluate the performance of claims staff regularly through audits to ensure consistent implementation of standards and quality control.
  • Maintain current knowledge of relevant laws and regulations and communicate updates to staff.
  • Perform other assigned projects.
  • Qualifications
    • BA/BS degree or equivalent.
    • 3+ years of progressive management experience (preferred).
    • Experience in the Workers' Compensation insurance industry.
    • SIP certification where required.
    • Knowledge of budgeting and profit/loss management.
    • Experience with computerized claims management and office systems.
    • Thorough knowledge of related laws and regulations.
