Workday Payroll Analyst
Location: Minneapolis, MN, or Charlotte, NC
Schedule: Hybrid (3 Days In-Person)
Employement: 6-Month Contract (W2), Weekly Pay (40 hours/week)
Pay Rate: $60/hr.

Overview:
Calculated Hire is in search of a Workday Payroll Analyst for our Fortune 100 Financial Services company Payroll Product Team. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with Workday Payroll, possess strong skills in business analysis, and be comfortable with agile tools such as Jira. This role requires working closely with cross-functional teams to gather requirements, write user stories, and perform testing to ensure accurate payroll functionality and compliance.
Key Responsibilities:
- Act as a subject matter expert (SME) for Workday Payroll functionality, processes, and configuration.
- Collaborate with HR, Payroll, and IT stakeholders to gather and document business requirements.
- Translate business needs into detailed user stories and functional specifications using Jira.
- Conduct end-to-end testing, including functional, regression, and user acceptance testing (UAT), to validate Workday payroll configurations and integrations.
- Troubleshoot and resolve payroll-related issues and defects in Workday.
- Assist with payroll system upgrades, patches, and enhancements.
- Ensure compliance with payroll regulations and internal policies.
- Maintain accurate and updated documentation of processes, configurations, and workflows.
Required Qualifications:
- 5+ years of Business Execution, Implementation, or Strategic Planning experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work or consulting experience, training, military experience, education.
- Experience working with Workday, with a focus on Payroll.
- Strong understanding of US payroll processes, tax regulations, and reporting requirements.
- Proven experience in requirement gathering, business analysis, and stakeholder communication.
- Experience with Jira for managing user stories, bugs, and agile workflows.
- Proficient in writing clear and concise user stories, acceptance criteria, and functional specifications.
- Hands-on experience in testing payroll configurations, including validation and reconciliation.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
