Directly under the supervision of Dr. Devine, the Work Assistant will support research focused on improving health outcomes and healthcare delivery for children, adolescents, and families impacted by pediatric cancer and sickle cell disease. The Work Assistant will also be involved in tasks including qualitative interviews and data collection, transcription of interviews, and coding qualitative interviews. The Work Assistant will learn valuable research skills as well as professional career development skills under the supervision of the Principal Investigator. Among the key duties for this position are the following:
  • Engage in data collection, including qualitative interviews and surveys per study protocol.
  • Transcribe, clean, and code qualitative data.
  • Conduct literature reviews.
  • Research activities may require flexible (i.e., evening or weekend) activities on occasion per project demands.
  • Attend lab meetings.
  • Attend workshops, seminars, lectures, and career development activities as available.
