Wyckoff Heights Medical Center is recruiting for an exceptional Women's Health Nurse Practitioner (WHNP) to join its team. We are seeking WHNP to join us in pursuit of high-quality patient care. Ideal candidates are those who have expertise in comprehensive care of women throughout the lifespan, with an emphasis on reproductive and gynecological health. This is a full-time NYSNA outpatient/ambulatory position. Wyckoff Heights Medical Center is a 220-bed teaching hospital located in a residential neighborhood directly on the border of northern Brooklyn and Western Queens. We serve a variety of cultural and ethnic communities. We are committed to quality and compassion in addressing the healthcare needs of urban neighborhoods. These nurse practitioners are skilled in conducting physical exams, ordering and interpreting diagnostic tests, prescribing medications, and performing certain procedures. They also provide counseling and education on sexual health, family planning, hormonal therapies, and healthy lifestyle choices. Job Description:
  • Provide prenatal care and Women's Health Care in outpatient setting.
  • Patient assessment and diagnosis: Conducting thorough physical exams and obtaining detailed medical histories to diagnose health conditions specific to women.
  • Treatment planning: Developing and implementing individualized treatment plans, which may include prescribing medications, therapies, and lifestyle modifications.
  • Reproductive healthcare: Providing care related to pregnancy, childbirth, contraception, and menopause.
  • Gynecological care: Performing routine exams such as Pap smears, breast exams, and managing gynecological conditions like endometriosis, fibroids, and polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS).
  • Patient education: Educating patients on reproductive health, disease prevention, healthy lifestyle choices, and managing chronic conditions.
  • Preventive care: Performing screenings and vaccinations to prevent illness and maintain health.
  • Care coordination: Collaborating with other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive and continuous patient care.
  • Health promotion: Engaging in community health initiatives and wellness programs to promote public health among women.
  • Requirements/Qualifications:
  • Master's degree in nursing and graduation from an accredited RN and NP Program.
  • Possess current WHNP Certificate or FNP with 2 years' Women's Health Experience
  • ACLS, BLS provider credentialed from the American Hart Association (AHA) and Basic CPR (BCLS) Certification.
  • Should have strong background in health care policy, clinical reasoning, advanced health assessment and advanced women's healthcare, among others.
  • Possess clear and concise writing and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to manage stress due to the high workload.
  • Should be compassionate and empathetic.
  • Preferred Bilingual (Spanish)
