Base pay range

$67.00/hr - $73.00/hr

Environment: Hybrid, 3 days onsite

Duration: 6 month contract to hire

Pay: $67-$73/hour W2, can do C2C

Details:

We are seeking an experienced Windows Systems Engineer/Site Reliability Engineer (SRE) to join our client's Retirement Services Product Development team. This role is focused on building and maintaining tools and infrastructure that support DevOps, ITOps, and platform-as-a-service (PaaS) delivery in a Windows-heavy OpenStack environment. The ideal candidate is a strong communicator with a product development mindset, a solid understanding of system fundamentals, and hands-on experience across CI/CD, containerization, and automation tooling.

Requirements:

• 8+ years of professional experience in a Windows Systems Engineer, SRE, DevOps, or Systems Engineering roles.
• Product development environment experience and strong understanding.
• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across cross-functional R&D and engineering teams.
• Strong understanding of systems fundamentals, including OS, windows, networking, security, and database layers.
• Proven product development background, ideally in enterprise or financial services platforms.
• Deep expertise in Windows systems and solid working knowledge of OpenStack infrastructure.
• Proficiency in scripting and automation (Python, Groovy, PowerShell, or Bash), with experience in CI/CD tools like Azure DevOps or Jenkins, and version control with Git or Bitbucket.
• Hands-on experience with RESTful APIs, containerization (Docker/Kubernetes), and monitoring tools such as Splunk or Dynatrace; familiarity with cloud-native architectures (preferably AWS).
