In this role, you'll have the opportunity to establish and nurture relationships with retail partners, identify growth opportunities, and drive the visibility and sales of popular Asian and Bokksu-branded products. If you are a results-oriented professional with a strong foundation in sales and a keen interest in Asian culture and culinary delights, we invite you to explore this opportunity.This role requires working 2 - 3 days a week from our fun NYC HQ near Penn Station.[ Your Responsibilities ]
  • Sales Development: Prospect, engage, and close potential retail or distribution partners in various verticals by region (e.g., speciality, convenience, discount, etc.) while nurturing existing relationships to amplify Bokksu's presence within the retail segment.
  • Procurement Mastery: A master in navigating large retailers' or distributors' procurement process to become a trusted vendor who continually exceeds its guidelines' expectations.
  • Sales Strategy: Develop, implement, and monitor accounts, pricing structures, plans / resets, and promotional campaigns to meet or exceed revenue and growth objectives.
  • Product Expertise: Develop a comprehensive understanding of Bokksu products and provide education and support to retail partners, emphasizing key features and value propositions.
  • Market Analysis: Stay informed about industry trends, competitor activities, and evolving consumer preferences to inform strategic decision-making.
  • Forecasting and Reporting: Create and manage accurate sales forecasts, financial reports, and budgets to guide proactive planning and resource allocation.
  • Contract Negotiations: Lead negotiations with retail or distribution partners to establish mutually advantageous contractual agreements.
  • Training and Support: Provide training and ongoing support to retail partners to optimize sales opportunities and ensure a positive customer experience.
[ Your Skills ]
  • Pipeline Proficiency: Constantly hit or exceed goal and ability to hunt for new business and accurately take it through the end-to-end sales pipeline.
  • Negotiation Expertise: Ability to negotiate purchase orders, lock-in reorder frequency, set-up minimum volumes, and long-term agreements with retailers.
  • Market Insight: Understand consumer and individual retailer trends. Help buyers constantly select winning SKUs from Bokksu's product offerings to help them achieve sell-through and margin goals.
  • Asian Product Passion: A strong passion for and understanding of Asian cuisine and Japanese culture. Be able to easily educate, captivate, and entice retail Buyers partners.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Seamlessly coordinate and collaborate with diverse cross-functional teams (i.e., Operations, Logistics, Procurement) to constantly delight customers.
[ Your Qualifications ]
  • 2 to 5 Years of Relevant Experience
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in Business, Sales, Marketing, or a related field.
  • Proven track record of successful Wholesale Sales to different types of retailers, consistently meeting or exceeding sales targets.
  • Strong knowledge of the retail market, including industry dynamics, competitive landscape, and consumer behaviors.
  • Exceptional communication and negotiation skills.
  • Self-motivated, results-driven, and proactive with a commitment to delivering excellence.
  • An interest in Asian culture and cuisine is advantageous.
  • Willingness to travel as required.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $50,000-$85,000 + sales commission + stock options + benefits.
