The Employee Wellness Unit is seeking a passionate professional to coordinate and grow programs that encourage healthy lifestyles, supportive policies, and positive work environments. In this role, you'll gather and analyze data to design meaningful wellness initiatives while serving as the primary connection between the County, community partners, and local organizations. - Develops and implements wellness programs and services that align with County goals and employee health needs
- Defines and tracks metrics to evaluate program effectiveness and overall employee engagement
- Prepares and monitors the wellness program budget, including making recommendations and purchases as needed
- Consults with management to ensure programs meet organizational needs and comply with legal requirements
- Compiles and maintains records of wellness activities, preparing reports to share progress and outcomes
- Leads the Employee Wellness Committee, including scheduling meetings, preparing agendas, and guiding discussions
- Collaborates with internal and external partners to select and oversee wellness vendors and referral resources
- Coordinates and facilitates wellness programs, physical activity classes, and health-related activities for employees
- Teaches and leads various wellness activities, ensuring proper setup of equipment and resources
- Plans and manages the annual Employee Health Fair, including vendor coordination, event logistics, and on-site setup
Minimum Qualifications Graduation from an accredited four-year college or university with a major/degree in health promotion/management, human resource management, business or public administration, or related field and three (3) years of experience in health or wellness management; or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Management Preferences: Experience in accounts payable, accounts receivable, billing, invoicing, requisitioning, health promotion, health counseling, nutritional health program management, or related field. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Knowledge of the principles and practices of health and wellness programming within an organization, including metrics to evaluate program effectiveness
- Knowledge of diseases, health trends, and methods for creating and maintaining healthy lifestyles
- Knowledge of various exercise methods, nutrition planning, and development of healthy menus and diets
- Knowledge of relevant regulations such as HIPAA and ADA, with the ability to interpret and apply them appropriately
- Knowledge of community health agency functions and available resources
- Knowledge of display techniques and methods for preparing and arranging exhibits, posters, and other visual aids
- Knowledge of the application of information technology as it relates to health and wellness programs
- Skill in planning, organizing, and leading engaging public presentations and creative wellness events
- Skill in writing and composing clear, informative content for newsletters, articles, and program communications
- Skill in arranging displays and exhibits to promote health education effectively
- Ability to present ideas clearly and persuasively, both orally and in writing
- Ability to coordinate and motivate groups of employees to actively participate in health and wellness programs
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with staff, county departments, community organizations, and the public
- Ability to work effectively with individuals of diverse educational and cultural backgrounds
- Ability to model and promote healthy lifestyle choices through personal example
- Ability to meet modern accountability standards, including customer service, responsiveness, turnaround time, respect for diversity, and effective business practices
