Welder/Fitter - Express Employment : Job Details

Top Job Located in Waco, TX Salary: $18/hr.Are you a skilled Welder/Fitter with hands-on experience in structural steel fabrication? We're hiring four experienced professionals to join our growing team. If you have a strong background in layout, welding, and fitting of steel components, we want to hear from you!Key Responsibilities:

• Fabricate, assemble, and weld structural steel components:
  • Burn table operation
  • Frames, studs, weld wire assemblies
  • Saw cutting, drilling beams, and hole prep
• Read and interpret detailed blueprints, shop drawings, and steel layouts
• Perform high-quality welding using SMAW, GMAW, and/or GTAW processes
• Fit, align, and tack structural members with precision
• Work closely with team members to meet project deadlines and quality standards
• Maintain a safe, organized, and efficient workspace
• Coordinate with the Parts Department for material readiness and workflow optimization

Required Qualifications:

• Minimum 4 years of experience as a Welder/Fitter in a structural steel fabrication environment
• Proficient in reading and interpreting fabrication blueprints and layout plans
• Skilled in using burn tables, saws, drills, welders, and other fabrication tools
• Strong understanding of fitting techniques, layout, and material preparation
• Self-motivated, dependable, and safety-focused

Additional Requirements:

• Must supply your own welding gear and personal protective equipment (PPE)
• Must have reliable transportation and a solid attendance record
• Prior experience in a fabrication or steel shop environment is a strong advantage
• Welding certifications (AWS, etc.) are a plus but not required
• Must comply with all shop safety standards and protocols
