POSITION SUMMARY The web content manager plays a central role in maintaining a dynamic and effectiveonline presence for Bluffton Universitys constituencies in order to strengthen thereputation and brand of Bluffton University. As a member of the PR staff, the webcontent manager assists with planning and coordination of public relations responsibilitiesincluding internal communications, special events, crisis communications and mediarelations as needed.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Web design and support:
- Oversee content, design and code for template development on www.bluffton.edu site.
- Build content to develop web pages and maintain current pages. Work collaborativelywith assistant director in developing, writing and editing web content.
- Serve as main contact with CMS provider and other web site product support vendors.Report budget needs to assistant director of PR.
- Serves as primary point of contact for campus regarding web issues and coordinateswith others as needed to advance web strategies.
- Responsible for CMS training, continuing education and on-going communication withweb page administrators across the campus to ensure that their work implements campus-widestandards related to web site development and use. Foster a culture in which updatesand changes to the web site occur frequently, keeping it fresh, lively and engagingfor visitors.
- Collaborate with IT staff members who have responsibility for web technologies andserver needs.
- Develop and implement annual web content plan with measurement goals. Use softwareto generate and analyze monthly usage reports. Make navigation, special feature upgrades,and design and content change recommendations based on six-month and one-year trendsof user feedback.
- Develops and establishes web writing and content guidelines in collaboration withassistant director.
- E-newsletters:
- Build and distribute monthly e-newsletters per communication strategy.
- Work collaboratively with assistant director on message plan for each issue.
- Lead any visual redesign needs with senior graphic designer.
- Box office management:
- Manage the HomeTown Tickets online platform for all campus events by coordinatingwith campus clients to ensure they have what they need and are trained on usage.
- Occasional Duties and Responsibilities:
- Other tasks as assigned by supervisor.
- Support and train public relations student workers as needed.
- Saturday commitments and occasional evening/weekend work.
QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:

Bachelors degree at minimum. Prior experience in digital content creation, communication, journalism or informationtechnology and web design/management.
- Special Skills:
As a frequent representative of Bluffton University to the public and corporate community,the employee must have high ethical standards and excellent communication and interpersonalskills. Be highly motivated with strong organizational skills, technology skills and the abilityto manage multiple tasks are vital. Candidate must be friendly, outgoing, self-motivated, be able to delegate, and haveexcellent written and verbal skills. Candidate must also be computer literate in Microsoft Office, Excel and Word.

- 1-3 years of prior digital content creation, communication, journalism or informationtechnology experience or other college related work.
- Understanding of the liberal arts, private college environment within a Christiansetting.
