Water Treatment Plant Operator - Alutiiq LLC : Job Details

The Water Treatment Plant Operator performs duties related to the operation of water treatment facilities. Monitors equipment, gauges and charts and records data related to water quality to ensure water is properly treated before releasing it into the potable water sytem. Keeps supervisor apprised of unique situations and problems encountered and identifies and reports safety, environmental and other work requirements for resolution. Controls water treatment plant and equipment to treat water for human consumption and industrial use. Operates and controls electric motors, pumps and valves that regulate flow into the water plant for treatment. Controls specific amounts of chemicals to stabilize and disinfect the water prior to distribution. Chemical additions are, Phosphoric acid (PO 4), liquid bleach (chlorine), Caustic soda (p. H) control, and fluoride.
