As an Assistant-Principal Project Engineer/Manager in San Luis Obispo, you will have the opportunity to work with a multi-disciplinary team on landmark projects. Candidates should have a BSCE degree, California Registration as a Professional Civil Engineer, and a minimum of six (6) years of water resources engineering experience. A minimum of two (2) years project management experience is required, including supervising a design team, overseeing designers, drafters, and subconsultants.
Required Technical Skills:
The candidate's technical experience must include proficiency in:
Proficiency with LID design principles, HMP Compliance, Water Quality modeling, BMP design, TMDL programs, and regulatory requirements of RWQCB and SWRCB is also desired.
Good oral and written communication skills are essential.
Software Proficiency:
Project Management Skills:
The candidate must demonstrate strong decision-making, leadership, and supervisory skills, including direct supervision of water resources design staff, personnel management, reviews, training, and QC. Experience in establishing positive client/public-agency relationships is important.
Experience with contract preparation, proposal development, scope of work definition, managing multiple contracts, project scheduling, budgeting, billing, and collections is desirable. The ability to respond to RFPs/SOQs, deliver presentations, and participate in interviews for Public Works Projects is also valued.
Additional Qualifications:
Experience specific to Central Coast California, knowledge of Post Construction Requirements (PCRs), a MS in Civil Engineering or related field, programming skills, and certifications such as CFM, LEED, ENV-SP, PMP, CPESC, QSD, or QSP are a plus.
