WATER PURIFICATION OPERATOR (2761) - Jefferson Parish State of Louisiana : Job Details

The purpose of this position is to perform technical tasks in operating a Water Purification Plant and minor mechanical/maintenance for various types of equipment and processes used in a major Water Purification Plant. The employee must operate and/or monitor computers, pumps, motors, tanks, chemical feeders, levels, pressures, analyzers, and related equipment to insure the proper operation of the Purification Plant. Responsible for thorough knowledge of plant operators' safety standards, policies, and procedures as well as appropriately respond to adverse operating conditions in a time effective manner. Employee will monitor multiple settings and conditions to achieve results consistent with established regulatory standards. Performs related duties as required. This class of work requires that all operators work on a rotating shift basis.
