Two (2) Shift Openings:SAT 8AM-4PM, TUES-WED 12AM-8AM, THURS-FRI 4PM-12AMSUN-THURS 8AM-4PMJob Summary: Under general supervision, operates and adjusts equipment andinstrumentation. Treats wastewater discharges to meet Department ofEnvironmental Quality (DEQ) standards prior to release.Major Responsibilities:Operates and monitors computers, charts, dials, pumps, chemical feeders,laboratory equipment, meters, and gauges to determine status of various plantfunctions and regulate flow of wastewater through treatment plant.Reads and records chemical usage; fills chemical feeders; mixes chemicals;changes reagents as needed.Maintains filing system of operations and maintenance reports.Checks motors and pumps for excessive noise and temperatures.Ensures plant is safe and secure.Performs plant maintenance, grounds keeping, and housekeeping duties.Available to be reached during off hours in the event of an emergency.Available for shift work as needed.Performs other duties as assigned, including assisting other departments asrequired.Minimum Qualifications & Required Knowledge:High school graduate or GEDAbility to read, write and perform basic mathematical calculationsPossession of a valid Class D Driver's License issued by the State ofOklahomaClass D ODEQ Wastewater works Operator certification or ability to obtainwithin 6 months of hireKnowledge of relevant city, state, and federal laws, regulations, andpoliciesKnowledge of state and federal environmental and wastewater treatment plantregulationsKnowledge of biological, chemical, and mechanical principles of a wastewatertreatment plantKnowledge of proper safety procedures related to plant operations andgrounds maintenanceSkill in the laboratory analysis of water/wastewater samplesSkill in the operation, maintenance, and repair of a wastewater treatmentplantSkill in oral and written communicationAbility to be reached during off hours in the event of an emergencyCompetitive Benefits Package11 paid holidays per year10 paid sick leave days per year10 paid vacation leave days per year (increases with years of service - upto 20 days)2 fitness facilities for employeesPension planLongevity PayEmployee Assistance ProgramShort/Long Term DisabilityBasic Life & AD&DEmployee-Only Dental (Employer pays a portion of Dental Family)3 Healthcare Plans - Employer pays 75% of the base plan premium or thebase plan equivalent for the other tiersCase Community Center membershipDiscounted fishing pass at Shell LakeDiscounted golf at Canyons at Blackjack RidgeUtility discount for employees who live within the Sand Springs waterdistrict.Additional voluntary insurance options available; see our benefits page
