- Human Resources announces an opening for a 1.0 FTE Warehouse Specialist, 1st Shift. This is 12-months, Grade M-11 position located at Facilities and Operations with the Maintenance Office.
The Warehouse Specialist is responsible for the oversight of all activities related to receiving, storing, and distributing division materials, equipment, merchandise, supplies, and products. This position ensures that inventory is accurately tracked, materials are handled efficiently, and warehouse operations are conducted in accordance with safety and organizational standards NOTE regarding work schedule/shift assignment : The work schedule and shift are subject to change, depending upon the needs of APS. applicant hired for a position in this class is hired for the position, not the work schedule or shift assignment. Once hired, an employee may be reassigned to another schedule or shift at the discretion of APS. RESPONSIBILITIES:
- ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF THE CLASS (the following may not include all duties performed):
- Oversee the receipt, inspection, and documentation of incoming shipments for Facilities and Operations Trades site.
- Ensure proper storage and organization of materials and supplies in the warehouse.
- Coordinate organization of storage cages with assigned department contact
- Coordinate the distribution of materials to internal Facilities and Operations departments and external APS sites, as needed.
- Maintain accurate inventory records using warehouse management systems.
- Monitor stock levels and communicate reorder needs to department supervisors as necessary.
- Operate and maintain warehouse equipment, including forklifts and pallet jacks.
- Facilitate and conduct regular inventory audits and cycle counts.
- Ensure compliance with safety procedures and warehouse protocols.
- Maintain cleanliness and orderliness of the warehouse environment.
- Prepare reports and documentation related to warehouse operations.
EXPERIENCE:
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: - REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES INCLUDE:
- Knowledge of warehouse operations, inventory control, and logistics.
- Ability to operate warehouse equipment safely and efficiently.
- Proficiency in using inventory management software and basic computer applications.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to lift and move heavy objects (up to 50 lbs).
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
- Attention to detail and accuracy in recordkeeping.
QUALIFICATIONS: MINIMUM EDUCATION, TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Two (2) years of experience in warehouse operations or a related field
