MDC has more than 65 outside sales representatives, as well as additional sales support, reporting to regional offices. The company's sales efforts extend further through a worldwide distribution network. A staff of approximately 70 associates are in MDC's corporate headquarters.

Job Summary: Oversee warehouse daily operations, ensuring efficient receiving, storage, and dispatch of goods while managing staff, inventory, facility maintenance and safety.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following.

  • Manage warehouse staff effectively and productively to reach company goals and timelines.
  • Manage accurate flow of goods receiving shipments, stocking, picking, packing, and shipping orders.
  • Oversee inventory management with cycle counts and year end physical inventory while ensuring accurate recordkeeping to maintain traceability.
  • Lead, train, schedule, and manage warehouse staff, set productivity goals and foster a safe working environment.
  • Monitor and improve warehouse operations, optimizing workflows, space utilization and equipment use.
  • Identify and implement areas of process improvement and cost reduction
  • Implement and enforce safety protocols, ensuring compliance with company policies and regulatory standards.
  • Liaise with other departments, suppliers, and logistical providers to coordinate deliveries and ensure smooth supply chain operations.
  • Ensuring the building and its infrastructure (electrical, plumbing, HVAC etc) are in good working order through preventive maintenance and timely repairs.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Skills and qualifications

  • Associate's degree (or equivalent) in logistics or supply chain management preferred.
  • Three or more years of experience in a warehouse role managing hourly employees.
  • Proficiency with warehouse procedures and policies.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and leadership qualities.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with all levels of company staff.
  • Ability to lead, motivate, and develop a warehouse team
  • Proficiency in training and operating forklift
  • Understanding and implementing process improvements and key performance indicators
  • A strong aptitude for identifying and solving operational issues
  • Knowledge of health, safety, and OSHA regulations within warehouse environment.
