The Forklift Operator will be responsible for moving products around the warehouse with ease and offloading the inbound trailers safely. The operator is responsible for ensuring tires on trailer are chalked, landing gear is down, and air locks are secured prior to offloading. Operators are responsible for receiving and labeling the product and placing it in the correct location. We are looking for a Forklift Operator for our Receiving Department on our First Shift at our Zeeland, MI warehouse. Schedule: M-F 5 a.m. - 2:30 p.m. Pay: $19/hr. Essential Responsibilities
- Unload product from incoming trucks inspecting trailers, and product loads for damages and verify BOL corresponds with PO
- Communicate any discrepancies, product issues or safety issues with Supervisor
- Ensures all required paperwork is completed and counts are accurate for receiving product
- Make sure that product is moved and scanned using a radio frequency scanner to the correct location throughout the warehouse
- Ability to anticipate product flow and incoming loads to best utilize warehouse space
- Successfully passes Novo forklift training and operate a forklift following all safety requirements established
- Perform other duties as assigned
Basic Qualifications (Required)
- Effectively perform all essential functions, including physical requirements
- Ability to move awkward product lengths and weights
- Experience with operating a forklift with a rate rating of 6,500 pounds
- Use of proper PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) and company-approved tools while remaining aware of hazards and maintaining a safe work environment
- Basic math, interpersonal/team, and reasoning skills
- Ability to read, understand, and carry out written procedures and standard work instructions.
- Must be 18 years of age or older
- Flexibility in scheduling - able to work overtime as needed
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior experience in distribution or manufacturing environment
- Experience operating a forklift primarily with product weights of 2500 lbs. or more
- Prior experience lifting wide loads, as long as 18 feet
- Minimum one year of experience operating a sit-down forklift
- High School Diploma or GED
