Warehouse and Logistic Manager - Grid One Solutions : Job Details

Rochester, NY but will be responsible and required to travel periodically to other warehouses within NY State that are managed under this position.

This position is responsible for managing 2 warehouses and 3-4 laydown yards, a staff of 8-12 warehouse associates, and managing and accounting for inventory in and out and all associated duties. Ordering supplies and hiring and training new warehouse associates.

Job Type: Full-Time +, Exempt

Pay: $70,000 and up, depending on experience.

Essential Functions & Responsibilities:

• Strategically plan and manage logistics, warehouse, transportation, and customer services.
• Direct, optimize and coordinate full order cycle.
• Liaise and negotiate with suppliers, manufacturers, retailers, and consumers.
• Keep track of quality, quantity, stock levels, delivery times, transport costs, and efficiency.
• Arrange warehouse, catalog goods, plan routes and process shipments.
• Resolve any arising problems or complaints.
• Supervise, coach and train warehouse workforce.
• Meet cost, productivity, accuracy, and timeliness targets.
• Maintain metrics and analyze data to assess performance and implement improvements.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Must be 18 years of age or older.
• Proven working experience as a Logistics Manager.
• Record of successful distribution and logistics management.
• Demonstrable ability to lead and manage staff.
• Proficient in standard logistics software.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
• Ability to work independently and handle multiple projects.
• Must be able to obtain DOT Med Card within 90 days.

Education & Experience:

• 6+ months experience in a warehouse environment preferred, but not required.
• 1-year forklift experience preferred.
• Experience driving large box trucks preferred.

Pre-Screen:

• Upon offer, employees may be required to complete and pass a pre-employment drug screen, background, and/or MVR check.

License & Certifications:

• Driver License Required.

Travel Requirements:

Travel is required for this position.

Physical Requirements:

• RARE (less than 10%): crawling, sitting, climbing, climbing poles.

Due to the inherently dangerous nature of the industry and requirements to work with or around hazardous equipment, employees must have sufficient eyesight to judge distance/coordination of equipment and tools, be able to maintain attention and concentration for extended periods, be able to withstand exposure to all kinds of weather while completing work assignments, be able to wear personal protective equipment as necessary, be able to enter and exit a vehicle numerous times a day, have the endurance necessary to traverse various terrain, be capable of performing job duties throughout a standard 8- or 10-hour day, be able to communicate with others, read, write, and comprehend written/verbal job instructions and information, and communicate and handle conflict professionally.
