Roles & Responsibilities:

Scope of Job:

The Wardrobe Associate Lead at LEGOLAND New York Resort is a pivotal role with a focus on advancing Wardrobe and general uniform touchpoints, emphasizing inventory control, support services, and enhancing the overall Model Citizen journey. This position actively contributes to the forward product development aligned with the Entertainment multiyear strategy vision and plays a crucial role in developing and implementing innovative processes for the technical division.

Key Objectives:

  • Foster a harmonious team culture focusing on innovation, business strategy, and team growth.
  • Enhance inventory, shop stock, vendor relationships, and procurement processes.
  • Create a personnel wardrobe career ladder program to promote personal advancement.
  • Progress advancements within the current Wardrobe and general uniform touchpoints around inventory control, support services, and overall Model Citizen journey.
  • Actively participate in forward product development aligned with the overall Entertainment multiyear strategy vision.
  • Develop and drive key innovative processes for the technical division.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Manage the daily operational Wardrobe budget (expenses and labor), overseeing general shop supplies, uniform garments, laundry services, maintenance of equipment, production and fabrication costume costs, and department staff labor.
  • Maintain inventory of Wardrobe supplies, equipment, and systems like Invotech.
  • Assist the Costume and Wardrobe Assistant Manager with the daily operational Wardrobe budget.
  • Provide targeted and personalized guidance to Wardrobe Team, fostering skill development, and offering support to enhance their performance and well-being.
  • Lead and support the Costume and Wardrobe Assistant Manager all functions of the Costuming/Wardrobe department, including recruiting, training, and development of all Costume roles.
  • Maintain inventory of Wardrobe and supplies, equipment, and systems.
  • Supervise the quality assurance of Wardrobe products and support areas, tracking documents, budget tracking, and procurement services.
  • Support special events, including character offsite requests, Resort Awards recognition programs, partnership events, and internal park events.
  • Administrative duties include payroll, recognition platforms, schedules, recordkeeping, and performance supervision of daily Costuming and Wardrobe operations, including deliveries, pickups, laundry, and dry-cleaning procedures

Other Job Requirements:

  • Must be willing to work flexible hours, including evenings & weekends.
  • Attendance is a mandatory function of this job.
Qualifications & Experience:

Background and Experience:

  • 3+ years of proven experience in wardrobe production & design.
  • 3+ years of Theatre/Entertainment Costuming Management/Leadership experience theme park/cruise ship preferred.
  • Strong familiarity with budgeting and tracking expenses.
  • Must have a proficient knowledge of uniform distribution and inventory processes.
  • Must have a general knowledge of costume construction, fabrication, refurbishment, and cleaning procedures.
  • Proven evaluation & problem-solving skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft & Adobe software products. Knowledge of purchasing and reporting systems.
  • Demonstrated initiative, communication, and interpersonal skills; Confident and outgoing presence with the ability to professionally interact with various levels of team members and leadership.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills with the ability to handle multiple projects with a detailed oriented style and strict deadlines.

People: Supervisors and lead employees will have consistent communication and meetings with this role (i.e. schedules, payroll, and training). Promote and demonstrate LEGOs and Merlins culture and core values through words and actions. Ensure adherence to policies and procedures, effectively managing and documenting employee relations.

Health & Safety: Managers/supervisors are responsible for all aspects of Health, Safety & Security within their team, in line with the Group Policy (HS001).

Physical Demands:

  • Ability to sit for sustained periods, attend on-site and off-site meetings, perform paperwork activities, travel, and drive.
  • Must be able to climb a ladder, truss, and lift heavy equipment.
  • Intermittent and prolonged standing and walking to move about the park site.

Work Environment:

Various inside and outside locations with varying temperatures and floor surfaces.

Pay Range:USD $21.63/Hr.
