Job Description :
The responsibilities of the Graduate Assistant Coach at Vermont State University include coordination of student athletics; supervision of practice and contest; recruitment of student athletes for Vermont State University; coordination of travel and meals; initiation of eligibility procedures; handling of sports information; and performance of other appropriate duties as may be assigned. In this position you report to the Head Coach of your assigned sport.A Vermont State Graduate Assistant Coach is a representative of the University, and as such you are expected to conduct yourself in a way that embodies the principles of good sportsmanship and reflects well on the institution. You also are expected to ensure that the student athletes entrusted to you behave in like manner. It is understood that a graduate assistant coach position may be terminated if a graduate assistant coach is found to be involved in deliberate and serious violations of NCAA regulations.It is expected that each graduate student maintains a minimum grade point average of 3.0 and shows satisfactory progress toward a degree with completion in two years.The following Graduate Assistant positions are currently available:Women's Basketball,Men's Basketball,Football,Women's Volleyball,Men's Lacrosse,Women's Lacrosse,Alpine Skiing,Athletic Communication,Men's Ice HockeyADDITIONAL BENEFITS: These positions include tuition remission (18 credits max), room, and $4000 over the dates of the contract.This general outline illustrates the type of work which characterizes the job classification.
