Job DescriptionGotham is searching for a VP Strategy Director to lead the development and management of strategic visions and initiatives on a global, highly-recognized, mass beauty brand across multiple brand initiatives and integrated campaigns in different markets. Reporting into the EVP Executive Strategy Director, the VP Strategy Director will be essential to the continued success of our creative work, and help our clients drive their business forward and move the needle towards their goal of becoming the #1 digital brand for Millennials and Gen Z within the beauty category.What you'll do:
· Have a deep understanding of all the ways brands connect with people in today's world - from traditional media to digital to social activations and beyond
· Leverage research, data, social listening, beauty/fashion/culture trends and independent analysis to develop an understanding of what is most relevant to our business and our consumer; share it generously with the team
· Develop strategies and major market initiatives; know the right solution for every problem by understanding the audience, writing briefs, setting goals, and working with other strategic partners
· Stay on top of the business and cultural context around your brand, proactively coming to the table with challenges, opportunities and solutions
· Play a key role in agency creative acceleration process: uncovering relevant data (consumer, cultural, category) that could be fueled for client business progress
· Infuse your brand, media, and social expertise into the briefing process to keep the brand at the forefront of culture
· Be well versed in social platforms and exhibit an understanding of the consumer cultures that fuel them
· Partner closely with your counterparts in Creative, inspiring fresh, original ideas that are rooted in culture, and in human and business insight
· Develop strong working relationships with counterparts in Account Management, driving business forward together and meeting business goals, in turn stewarding creative ideas from theory to reality
· Develop solid relations and positive rapport with Clients, providing strategic counsel and collaborating closely with their senior leadership
· Develop thought leadership pieces
· Ensure use, adoption and learning of proprietary strategic tools
· Care deeply about the growth of your team and adapt development approach to ensure every strategist learns to grow, thrive, and drive our business for today and tomorrow!
What we're looking for:
· 10+ years of relevant experience required, including previous traditional, digital, and social agency experience; product-focused brand strategy experience is key
· A track record of brilliant strategic thinking that leads to unexpected, truly creative work
· CPG/global brand experience is a must; category experience in beauty and fashion is a plus
· Culturally plugged in - nimble, inspired, and scrappy gatherer of information
· Global trend awareness - informed and interested in consumers and media behavior in markets beyond the U.S.
· Working knowledge of what it takes to succeed in the mid-funnel consumer journey
· All eyes and ears on Gen Z and Millennial consumers (e.g. familiar with the newest TikTok trends and in the know of popular reality shows)
· Incredibly passionate and innately knowledgeable about brand and social strategy, and the beauty and fashion industries
· Master of storytelling and presenting, and a crisp thinker and communicator - verbally, visually, and in writing
· Strength of conviction for your thinking, well-balanced by an open ear and mind

The salary range for this position is $145,000 to $165,000. Where an employee or prospective employee is paid within this range will depend on, among other factors, actual ranges for current/former employees in the subject position; the associated discipline; market considerations; budgetary considerations; tenure and standing with the company (applicable to current employees); as well as the employee's/applicant's background, pertinent experience, and qualifications.
